The new 9 unit MRI course covers the essential principles of magnetic resonance imaging, from the basic magnetic resonance phenomenon, through image generation, signal processing and quantitative image analysis, to an in-depth exploration of MR applications in medicine, neuroscience and biology. Diffusion and functional MRI are covered in detail. The course includes hands-on sessions with the MR scanners in the Caltech Brain Imaging Center. Pre-requisites: undergraduate physical science, engineering, biology. Auditors and requirement wavers by permission.
